Job Title: Network Operation Centre (NOC) Engineer - Network
Job Summary
The NOC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of critical systems. This role involves proactive issue detection, incident resolution, and coordination with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and optimize network efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor switches, routers, LAN, WAN, VLAN, and other network devices for performance and availability.

Incident Management: Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues in real-time, escalating when necessary.

Configuration Management: Implement, maintain and backup configurations for switches, routers, and firewalls.

Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and provide permanent fixes.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, changes, and resolutions.

Collaboration: Work closely with system administrators, security teams, and vendors to resolve complex issues.

Performance Optimization: Analyse traffic patterns and recommend improvements to enhance network efficiency.

Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, standards, and security protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of switches, routers, LAN, WAN, VLAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).

Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar.

Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve network issues under pressure.

Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications: Preferred certifications include CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills to work in a 24/7 operational environment.

Adaptability: Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
