Job Description
The Duty Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operation of all hotel engineering systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and building services. The role supports the Engineering team in maintaining guest comfort, safety, and operational reliability while ensuring compliance with hotel standards and preventive maintenance procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain all engineering systems and equipment across the hotel.

Ensure smooth operation of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, water supply, kitchen equipment, and other hotel facilities.

Respond promptly to engineering breakdowns, guest complaints, and operational requests.

Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and plant rooms.

Ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.

Coordinate with operating departments to resolve maintenance-related issues.

Carry out preventive maintenance schedules as per hotel standards.

Attend breakdowns and perform troubleshooting of engineering equipment.

Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment checks, and repair works.

Monitor condition of critical equipment and report abnormalities to the Chief Engineer.

Ensure proper documentation of work orders and maintenance reports.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and hotel policies.

Monitor fire and life safety systems and report any issues immediately.
Qualifications
-
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hotel Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 4–5 years of experience in hotel engineering, facilities management, or building maintenance.

Good knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance operations.
