Job Description- Senior Accountant
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Accountant to lead and manage the company’s accounting operations with strong commercial understanding and strategic financial control. The ideal candidate should possess end-to-end accounting expertise, hands-on knowledge of import transactions, logistics costing, SEZ compliance, taxation, statutory requirements and the ability to drive cost optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance Management
- Handle complete accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, Journal Entries and Finalization of Accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate bookkeeping and timely closure of books.
- Monitor cash flow, fund planning, and working capital requirements.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and ledgers.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely compliance of GST, TDS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, PF, ESIC and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and government authorities.
- Support statutory audit, internal audit, and tax assessments.
Import, Logistics & SEZ Knowledge
- Manage accounting related to imports, exports, freight, customs duty, clearing charges, landed cost calculations, and vendor reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of SEZ procedures, documentation, exemptions, and compliance requirements.
- Verify shipping bills, BOE, invoices, duty payments, and import costing.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA, logistics vendors, and purchase team.
Cost Control & Strategic Planning
- Analyze expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction and profitability improvement.
- Develop strategies to optimize logistics cost, procurement cost, overheads, and operational spending.
- Prepare MIS reports, cost sheets, budgeting reports, and variance analysis for management.
- Recommend financial controls and process improvements.
Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly management reports on profitability, expenses, receivables, payables, and financial KPIs.
- Assist management in decision-making through financial analysis and forecasting.
- Support business expansion plans with financial feasibility inputs.
Team & Process Ownership
- Supervise junior accounting staff and ensure process discipline.
- Establish strong SOPs, controls, and documentation systems.
- Ensure confidentiality and high accuracy in all finance matters.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce / Finance
- 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- Strong knowledge of Tally / ERP / Excel (Advanced).
- Excellent knowledge of taxation, compliance, finalization, and reporting.
- Hands-on experience in import accounting, logistics costing, SEZ transactions.
- Strong analytical mindset with cost-saving orientation.
- Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
- High integrity, leadership ability, and problem-solving skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
