Location: Bangalore
Experience: 6 - 9 Years
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Warehouse Developer with deep expertise in the Snowflake ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing our enterprise data warehouse infrastructure. You will architect robust ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines, manage semi-structured data at scale, and ensure our data models are structured for high-performance business intelligence.
The ideal candidate understands how to leverage Snowflake’s decoupled storage and compute architecture to deliver fast, scalable, and cost-effective data solutions.
Key Responsibilities 1. Data Architecture & Modeling
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance data models (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, or Data Vault 2.0).
- Define and manage Snowflake objects including databases, schemas, tables, views, materialized views, and user-defined functions (UDFs).
- Architect end-to-end data pipelines from raw ingestion zones to analytics-ready data marts.
2. Pipeline Engineering & ELT
- Develop and maintain automated, continuous data ingestion pipelines using Snowpipe , Streams , and Tasks .
- Write complex, optimized SQL and utilize Snowpark (Python/Java) to drive data transformations.
- Ingest and parse diverse data formats, including structured relational data and semi-structured payloads ( JSON, Parquet, XML ) using Snowflake’s VARIANT type.
3. Performance Tuning & Cost Management
- Monitor and optimize query performance using the Query Profile tool, implementing clustering keys and search optimization where necessary.
- Manage and configure Virtual Warehouses (sizing, multi-cluster settings, and auto-suspend limits) to optimize performance while strictly controlling credit consumption.
- Implement Zero-Copy Cloning for efficient development and testing environments without duplicating storage costs.
4. Governance & Security
- Implement robust security frameworks utilizing Snowflake's Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model.
- Deploy data privacy measures, including row-level security, column-level masking policies, and data anonymization.
- Utilize Snowflake Time Travel and Fail-safe features to ensure data resilience and auditability.
Qualifications & Skills Required Technical Skills
- Snowflake Mastery: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience exclusively designing and developing in Snowflake.
- Advanced SQL: Exceptional SQL writing skills, including window functions, complex joins, and analytical queries.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python (highly preferred for Snowpark integration) or Scala/Java.
- Data Integration Stack: Proven experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt (Data Build Tool) , Fivetran, Matillion, or Airflow.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Experience working with cloud storage environments (AWS S3, Azure Blob, or Google Cloud Storage).
Professional Experience
- 5+ years of overall experience in Data Warehousing, Data Engineering, or Business Intelligence roles.
- Solid grasp of database internals, concurrency controls, and distributed computing concepts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data structures into business-friendly insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Snowflake Certification: SnowPro Core Certified or SnowPro Advanced Developer/Architect.
- Experience setting up secure Data Sharing and utilizing the Snowflake Marketplace.
- Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines for data infrastructure (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or schemachange).
