Role Overview
We are looking for a CAE Simulation Engineer to provide advanced virtual validation combining structural FEA, durability, NVH and Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) for automotive components and mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform linear and non-linear static/dynamic FEA for components and sub-assemblies under operational, test and misuse load cases.
- Evaluate stress, strain, deflection, contact pressure, bolt preload, plastic deformation and factor of safety.
- Perform modal, vibration/frequency response and NVH analysis.
- Conduct fatigue life and durability predictions using multi-axial fatigue tools.
- Build rigid and flexible MBD/kinematic models for mechanisms such as suspension, hinges, tailgates, seats and steering systems.
- Calculate dynamic reaction forces, joint moments, accelerations, swept volumes and envelope clearances.
- Perform FEA–MBD co-simulation and load cascading; apply MBD-extracted loads as FEA boundary conditions.
- Perform topology, topometry and shape optimization for lightweighting while preserving stiffness and structural targets.
- Correlate simulation results with physical test/telemetry data and recommend CAD redesigns and countermeasures.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience covering both FEA and MBD domains.
- Strong knowledge of continuum mechanics, rigid/flexible body kinematics and modal analysis.
- FEA tools such as Abaqus, Nastran, OptiStruct, ANSYS Mechanical or LS-DYNA.
- Pre/Post tools such as HyperMesh/HyperView, ANSA/META or ANSYS Workbench.
- MBD tools such as MSC Adams, MotionSolve, SIMPACK or RecurDyn.
- Durability tools such as nCode DesignLife or fe-safe.
Preferred Skills
- SimSolid.
- Experience with flexible-body methods such as CMS / Craig-Bampton.
- Automotive/mobility virtual validation experience.
- Knowledge of ASME/ISO material characterization and virtual validation standards.
Candidate Profile
CAE Simulation Engineer with 3–6+ years of hands-on FEA and MBD experience, strong simulation fundamentals and the ability to connect dynamic system behaviour with structural and durability performance.
