Experience
1–5 Years in Civil Construction, Infrastructure, Highway, Railway, Bridge, or Building Projects
Qualification
- B.Tech/B.E. (Civil), Diploma in Civil Engineering, MBA (Supply Chain) preferred.
- Additional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
Job Summary
The Purchase Executive is responsible for procuring construction materials, equipment, tools, consumables, and services required for project execution. The role includes vendor sourcing, price negotiation, purchase order management, timely delivery coordination, cost optimization, and ensuring compliance with company procurement policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement
- Procure civil construction materials such as Cement, Steel, Aggregates, Sand, Bitumen, Admixtures, Pipes, Bearings, Expansion Joints, Geotextiles, and other project materials.
- Purchase machinery, equipment, spare parts, and site consumables.
- Ensure uninterrupted material availability at project sites.
Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers.
- Maintain approved vendor database.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations.
- Build long-term relationships with reliable suppliers.
Purchase Process
- Receive and review Material Requisition (MR) from site/project teams.
- Obtain quotations from multiple vendors.
- Prepare comparative statements (CS) for commercial evaluation.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, taxes, freight, and warranties.
- Issue Purchase Orders (PO) after obtaining necessary approvals.
Cost Control
- Achieve cost savings through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
- Monitor market prices of construction materials.
- Ensure procurement within approved budgets.
Coordination
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Store, Planning, Accounts, QA/QC, and Logistics teams.
- Track deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely dispatch.
Documentation
- Maintain Purchase Orders, Quotations, Comparative Statements, Agreements, Delivery Challans, Invoices, and Vendor Records.
- Ensure complete documentation for audit and compliance.
Compliance
- Ensure procurement complies with company SOPs and contractual requirements.
- Verify GST compliance and statutory documents of vendors.
- Support internal and external procurement audits.
Inventory Support
- Coordinate with stores to avoid stock shortages and excess inventory.
- Assist in inventory planning and material reconciliation.
