Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager with strong knowledge of procurement for transmission line projects. The candidate will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for transmission line construction and related electrical works.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage procurement activities as per project requirements and timelines.
- Source and evaluate reliable vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Procure transmission line materials such as conductors, insulators, towers, cables, earthing materials, hardware fittings, clamps, nuts & bolts, transformers, electrical equipment, tools, and safety materials.
- Prepare and issue RFQs, compare quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize purchase orders.
- Negotiate commercial terms, payment conditions, delivery schedules, and warranty terms with vendors.
- Coordinate with the Project, Site, Store, Electrical, Engineering, and Accounts teams for material requirements.
- Ensure timely availability and delivery of materials at project sites.
- Monitor purchase orders, dispatches, deliveries, and pending materials.
- Maintain proper procurement records, vendor documentation, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Develop and maintain a strong vendor network for project-specific requirements.
- Conduct vendor evaluation based on quality, price, delivery, and reliability.
- Resolve issues related to delayed delivery, material shortages, quality, and commercial terms.
- Ensure procurement is carried out within approved budgets and company policies.
- Coordinate with stores and project teams for material receipt and reconciliation.
- Support cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation and alternate sourcing.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and applicable project specifications.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of transmission line and electrical project materials.
- Good vendor development and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of purchase processes, quotation comparison, PO preparation, and procurement documentation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle multiple project requirements and urgent site demands.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/software, and procurement documentation.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under project deadlines.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
- Relevant experience in transmission line, substation, EPC, or power infrastructure projects will be preferred.
Preferred Experience
Experience in procurement of materials for 33kV/66kV/132kV/220kV/400kV transmission line projects and coordination with project sites and vendors will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
