Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor at Umarani Multispeciality Hospital is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning operations and ensuring high standards of hygiene and sanitation across all hospital areas, including ICU, wards, operation theatres, casualty, and public areas. The role is critical in maintaining infection control and a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage housekeeping staff across ICU, wards, OT, and casualty departments.
- Assign daily cleaning duties and ensure timely completion without overlap.
- Maintain strict infection control and hospital hygiene standards.
- Ensure cleanliness in patient rooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas.
- Monitor and enforce proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits of all hospital areas.
- Train staff on cleaning procedures, safety measures, and PPE usage.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment.
- Coordinate with nursing and other departments for cleaning schedules.
- Handle complaints related to cleanliness and resolve them promptly.
- Prepare duty rosters, monitor attendance, and evaluate staff performance.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in Hospital Administration, Facility Management, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in hospital housekeeping supervision preferred.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and infection control practices is an advantage.
