Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Accountant who understands project-based accounting and the financial workflows involved in construction and interior projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with BOQs, project costing, contractor billing, vendor management, client invoicing, GST, TDS, and coordinating with project managers to monitor project finances.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete books of accounts for construction projects.
- Prepare and monitor project-wise budgets and actual costs.
- Review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and assist in cost tracking.
- Verify contractor running bills and subcontractor invoices.
- Process vendor bills and payment schedules.
- Generate client invoices as per project milestones.
- Track project profitability and cash flow.
- Reconcile project expenses with site teams.
- Maintain purchase orders and material cost records.
- Coordinate with procurement and project management teams.
- Handle GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and tax filings.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monthly account closures.
- Prepare MIS reports, project cost reports, and financial summaries.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain documentation for contracts, work orders, purchase orders, and payment approvals.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding client payments.
Required Skills & QualificationsEducation
- Any financial based degree diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- 2–5 years in construction, architecture, interiors, civil contracting, or EPC industries.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Software Knowledge
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Tally Prime
- Zoho Books
- Busy Accounting
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
- ERP systems (Zoho ERP, SAP, Oracle, or construction ERP platforms)
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of BOQs and project costing.
- Knowledge of running bills (RA Bills) and work orders.
- Vendor and subcontractor accounting.
- Material procurement accounting.
- GST and TDS compliance.
- Client billing and milestone invoicing.
- Budget vs Actual analysis.
- Cost centre accounting.
- Accounts payable and receivable.
- Financial reporting and reconciliation.

- Accuracy of project cost reporting.
- Timely processing of vendor payments.
