Key Responsibilities of a fitter:
- Fabricating and repairing: They assemble new structures, and fit up metal components.
- Reading blueprints: fitter interpret technical drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Material preparation: They measure, cut, and prepare materials according to specifications.
- Welding process: They operate welding equipment, adjust heat settings, and ensure proper fusion of materials.
- Quality control: Welders inspect their work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
- Equipment maintenance: They maintain and troubleshoot welding/cutting equipment.
- Safety: fitter follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
