Key Responsibilities — PCB Design
- Design and develop multi-layer PCB layouts using Altium Designer, from schematic capture through to manufacturing-ready Gerber file generation.
- Perform component placement, signal routing, and design rule checks (DRC/ERC) to ensure electrical integrity, signal quality, and EMI compliance.
- Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to review schematics, resolve design conflicts, and optimize PCB layouts for performance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Create and maintain Altium component libraries including schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D STEP models to ensure accurate board assembly data.
- Prepare complete manufacturing documentation including Gerber files, Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and pick-and-place files for PCB fabrication and assembly houses.
- Support hardware prototyping, board bring-up, and debugging activities by working closely with the testing and validation team to identify and resolve design issues.
- Maintain version control and revision history of PCB designs, ensuring traceability and documentation are aligned with project lifecycle requirements.
Key Responsibilities — 3D CAD & Enclosure Design
- Utilize SolidWorks or AutoCAD to design and model product enclosures, ensuring proper mechanical fit, PCB mounting clearances, connector cutouts, and thermal considerations.
- Customize and modify solid block raw materials and standard hardware profiles to meet project-specific dimensional and functional requirements.
- Prepare and issue 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models for enclosure machining, sheet metal fabrication, or 3D printing vendors, including GD&T annotations where required.
- Integrate PCB 3D models into enclosure assemblies to perform mechanical interference checks and validate the complete product form factor before fabrication.
- Coordinate with external fabrication vendors for enclosure prototyping, review sample quality, and iterate on designs to meet production standards.
Requirements & Skills
MANDATORY
Proficiency in Altium Designer — schematic capture, PCB layout, component library management, and output job generation.
PREFERRED
Basic working knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD for 3D enclosure modelling and mechanical design.
GOOD TO HAVE
Understanding of IPC standards, high-speed design, impedance control, and DFM/DFA guidelines.
GOOD TO HAVE
Experience with ECAD-MCAD collaboration workflows and vendor communication for PCB and enclosure fabrication.
