Job Summary
The Production Officer is responsible for executing and supervising API manufacturing activities to ensure timely production, adherence to quality standards, regulatory compliance, and optimum utilization of resources. The role involves monitoring manufacturing processes, maintaining production documentation, ensuring cGMP compliance, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities Production Operations
- Execute API manufacturing batches as per the approved Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR).
- Supervise manufacturing operations to achieve production targets within planned timelines.
- Monitor critical process parameters including temperature, pressure, vacuum, pH, and reaction time.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate with Warehouse, QA, QC, Engineering, and EHS departments for smooth production activities.
Equipment Operation
- Supervise the operation of:
- Glass-Lined Reactors (GLR)
- Stainless Steel Reactors (SSR)
- Centrifuges
- Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryer (ANFD)
- Rotary Vacuum Dryer (RVD)
- Vacuum Tray Dryer (VTD)
- Blenders
- Pulverizers
- Vibro Sifters
- Pumps and Agitators
- Ensure proper equipment cleaning and line clearance before batch execution.
Documentation
- Prepare, review, and maintain:
- Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR)
- Equipment Logbooks
- Cleaning Records
- Shift Reports
- Production Registers
- Ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
- Identify and report process deviations, incidents, and abnormalities.
- Participate in deviation investigations and implement CAPA.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
Safety & Environment
- Ensure adherence to EHS policies and safe work practices.
- Monitor safe handling of chemicals, solvents, and hazardous materials.
- Promote housekeeping and 5S practices in production areas.
- Ensure the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Team Management
- Supervise Production Operators and Attendant Operators during shift operations.
- Train team members on SOPs, GMP, safety procedures, and process operations.
- Maintain discipline and ensure efficient shift management.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives to improve productivity, batch yield, and equipment utilization.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and TPM activities.
- Minimize downtime, batch failures, and process deviations.
Educational Qualification
- B.Sc./M.Sc. (Chemistry)
- B.Tech in Chemical Engineering will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in API Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Pay: ₹220,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per year
