ABOUT REVANTAGE
Revantage is a Blackstone portfolio company and a leading provider of corporate services across Blackstone's Real Estate portfolio. Headquartered in Chicago, Revantage supports a diverse and complex ecosystem of portfolio companies (PortCos) spanning residential, commercial, logistics, hospitality, and life-sciences real estate globally — across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
Our People Technology team sits at the centre of this multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional operating model. We run a single Workday tenant that serves a federated landscape of PortCos, each with its own workforce, HR policies, compensation structures, payroll requirements, and compliance obligations. This complexity demands technology professionals who thrive in ambiguity, operate with an enterprise mindset, and can design solutions that scale across legal entities, geographies, and business models.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Product Owner is an experienced, functionally deep Workday professional who owns one or more Workday modules end-to-end on behalf of Revantage and its PortCos. This is not a passive coordination role — it is an active, hands-on domain mastery role. You are the subject-matter expert, the decision-maker, the stakeholder champion, and the product strategist for your assigned module(s). You will work across a complex multi-PortCo environment, running user forums, managing the release roadmap, driving adoption, and continuously finding ways to extract more value from the platform.
Revantage hires multiple Product Owners, each covering a cluster of related modules. Example ownership areas include: (1) Core HCM, Onboarding & Workday Help; (2) Compensation & Advanced Compensation; (3) Recruiting, Paradox & HiredScore; (4) Talent & Learning; (5) US Benefits & US Payroll; (6) People Analytics & Peakon. While specific module assignments may vary, the role profile, expectations, and seniority level are consistent across all Product Owner positions.
This role has a defined growth path: as the team matures, the Product Owner will take on line management responsibility for an Associate Product Owner, growing into a player-manager who both delivers and develops.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Domain Ownership & Functional Mastery
-
Own your assigned Workday module(s) end-to-end — from strategy and design through configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
-
Develop and maintain deep functional expertise in your domain(s), staying current with Workday product updates, roadmap changes, and community best practices.
-
Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation resource for your module area across all PortCos.
-
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of how your module(s) interact with upstream and downstream systems and processes — and design solutions with those dependencies in mind.
-
Think beyond Workday: identify complementary or supplementary technologies that could enhance capability in your domain — whether that is AI-powered tools, third-party integrations, or adjacent platforms.
PortCo Engagement & Stakeholder Management
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with HR leaders, operations teams, and business stakeholders across multiple PortCos.
-
Act as a trusted advisor — understanding each PortCo's unique workforce model, business context, and HR priorities.
-
Run structured Product Owner forums, working groups, and user communities to surface requirements, share updates, and drive alignment.
-
Manage competing priorities across PortCos with transparency — communicating trade-offs, timelines, and decisions clearly to all stakeholders.
-
Facilitate requirements workshops and design sessions, translating business needs into clear, actionable Workday solutions.
Roadmap & Release Ownership
-
Own and maintain the product roadmap for your module(s) — balancing strategic enhancements, PortCo-driven requirements, bug fixes, and Workday release adoption.
-
Evaluate every Workday bi-annual release for impact and opportunity within your domain — leading opt-in decisions, testing, and rollout planning.
-
Prioritize the backlog in collaboration with stakeholders, the Functional Architect, and People Technology leadership.
-
Ensure all enhancements are delivered with appropriate change management, training, and communications to end users and HR teams.
-
Track and report on the delivery and benefit realization of roadmap initiatives.
Hands-On Delivery
-
Remain hands-on with Workday configuration in your module area — able to review, validate, and contribute to configuration work alongside the Associate Product Owner.
-
Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for enhancements and releases within your domain.
-
Review and approve design documents, configuration specifications, and test plans before deployment.
-
Support the Associate Product Owner(s) in day-to-day delivery, providing guidance, review, and quality oversight.
Ecosystem & Innovation Thinking
-
Continuously evaluate the HR technology landscape for innovations relevant to your module area — e.g., AI in recruiting, manager effectiveness tools, payroll analytics.
-
Propose and build the business case for technology enhancements or new tool adoption where Workday alone does not fully meet business needs.
-
Collaborate with vendors (Workday, Paradox, HiredScore, Peakon, etc.) to stay ahead of product developments and advocate for Revantage's priorities.
Team Development (Future State)
-
In the near term, work closely with and provide functional guidance to the Associate Product Owner(s) aligned to your module area.
-
As the team grows, take on formal line management responsibility for your Associate Product Owner — supporting their development, performance, and career growth.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
5+ years of Workday functional experience with deep, hands-on expertise in at least two Workday modules.
-
Demonstrated experience owning a Workday module in a production environment — including enhancements, releases, stakeholder management, and roadmap ownership.
-
Experience working in a multi-entity, multi-PortCo, or shared-services HR technology model.
-
Strong understanding of Workday business process configuration, security roles, reporting, and calculated fields.
-
Proven ability to engage and influence senior HR stakeholders without direct authority.
-
Experience running forums, steering committees, or user communities across a distributed stakeholder base.
-
Global Workday implementation or support experience — able to navigate multi-jurisdiction complexity.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for business audiences and vice versa.
MODULE-SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE (BY ROLE)
Depending on the specific Product Owner role, candidates should bring deep expertise in one or more of the following clusters:
-

Experience with third-party HR technology integrations and vendor management.
-
Exposure to change management methodologies and communication planning.
-
Prior experience in private equity, financial services, or multi-company real estate environments.
-
Familiarity with Agile or product management frameworks (backlog management, sprint planning, road mapping tools).
