Role Summary
The Sales Manager – RMC is responsible for driving business growth through new client acquisition, revenue generation, and strong customer relationship management across contractor, builder, infrastructure, and individual customer segments. The role focuses on expanding market presence, achieving sales targets, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver high-quality RMC solutions aligned with project requirements and IS standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify and develop new customers including contractors, builders, infrastructure companies, and individual project owners.
- Conduct regular site visits, client meetings, and interactions with site engineers and decision-makers.
- Map project pipelines and upcoming developments to generate sustainable business opportunities.
- Conduct market research to identify new growth areas, segments, and demand trends.
2. Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
- Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (volume and value).
- Develop and execute territory-wise sales strategies to improve market penetration and share.
- Prepare and negotiate commercial proposals, pricing, and supply agreements within approved frameworks.
- Drive repeat business through consistent engagement and service reliability.
3. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers and project stakeholders.
- Ensure regular site visits to monitor customer satisfaction, service quality, and concrete performance.
- Act as the first point of contact for resolving customer concerns related to delivery schedules, pricing, and quality.
4. Order Management & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with production, dispatch, and logistics teams to ensure timely and uninterrupted concrete supply.
- Monitor order execution and align production schedules based on project demand and site conditions.
- Support efficient supply chain planning to minimize delays and maximize plant utilization.
5. Payment Collection & Credit Control
- Ensure timely payment collection and adherence to approved credit terms.
- Coordinate with the finance team to track outstanding receivables and manage customer credit limits.
- Resolve billing, invoicing, and reconciliation issues in a timely manner.
6. Quality & Compliance Coordination
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure RMC supplied meets customer specifications and IS code requirements.
- Address product complaints, facilitate root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
- Reinforce quality assurance practices at customer sites to strengthen brand credibility.
7. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Track competitor pricing, product offerings, service models, and market movements.
- Provide regular market feedback and recommendations on pricing, positioning, and service differentiation.
- Support management with insights for continuous business improvement.
8. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Maintain accurate customer, order, and interaction data in CRM / ERP systems.
- Analyze sales performance and present actionable insights to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in RMC / Cement / Building Materials sales.
- Strong exposure to B2B construction sales, project-based selling, and site coordination.
- Familiarity with CRM / ERP systems and MIS reporting.
