Job Summary
The HSE Officer will build and enforce a world-class safety culture at the construction site and during plant operations, focusing heavily on toxic gas mitigation and high-pressure safety management.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Protocols: Establish Work Permit Systems (Hot work, Cold work, Height work) and specific Confined Space Entry protocols for digester maintenance.
- Gas Hazard Mitigation: Install and routinely test gas leak detection systems for Methane ($CH_4$) and toxic Hydrogen Sulfide ($H_2S$).
- HAZOP Audits: Act as the secretary for Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies during the plant design phase.
- Emergency Response: Design fire hydrant networks, water spray systems for gas cascades, and run monthly mock drills for gas leaks or fire scenarios.
- Compliance: Maintain statutory accident registers and ensure 100% Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance across all staff and laborers.
Key Technical Skills & Software
- Certifications: NEBOSH, OSHA, or Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS).
- Core Skills: Root cause analysis, disaster management planning, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards, and deep knowledge of the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) guidelines.
Pay: ₹359,290.81 - ₹1,503,898.40 per year
