About GCF Consultants
We are a fast-scaling digital marketing and web development agency focused on the B2B, real estate, and industrial supply sectors. As we build increasingly complex digital ecosystems—including regional real estate portals and high-traffic supplier directories—our hosting and infrastructure needs are growing rapidly. We are preparing to scale to 130+ active client accounts and need a highly skilled Freelance DevOps Engineer to ensure our web applications, client sites, and internal systems are secure, scalable, and never go offline.
Role Overview
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer who bridges the gap between software development and IT operations. You will be responsible for architecting and managing our cloud infrastructure, setting up automated CI/CD deployment pipelines for our development pods, and monitoring system health. Your goal is to eliminate manual deployment errors, optimize server costs, and guarantee 99.9% uptime for our clients' high-value lead generation assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Provision, configure, and maintain scalable server environments on platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or DigitalOcean.
- CI/CD Pipeline Architecture: Build and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI) to automate code testing and deployment from our dev team.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Package applications using Docker and manage deployments using orchestration tools (like Kubernetes or Docker Swarm) for seamless scaling.
- Security & Compliance: Implement aggressive security protocols, manage SSL certificates, configure firewalls, and conduct vulnerability assessments to protect client data.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Set up robust logging and monitoring stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Datadog) to proactively identify server bottlenecks and downtime before clients notice.
- Database Backups: Ensure reliable, automated database backup and disaster recovery protocols are actively functioning across all environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Administration role.
- Cloud Mastery: Deep expertise in AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Route53) or GCP, along with strong Linux system administration skills.
- Automation Tools: Highly proficient with CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Scripting: Strong scripting abilities in Bash, Python, or Go to automate repetitive infrastructure tasks.
- Problem Solver: Calm under pressure with a proven ability to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve live server outages.
Pay: ₹300.00 - ₹1,500.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Work from home

- On average, how many hours of active work does it take you to provision a new cloud server, containerize a standard Node.js/React application via Docker, and set up a fully automated GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline for it?
- What is your expected commercial charge? (Please state your standard hourly rate and your monthly retainer fee for ongoing server maintenance/monitoring).
- Please provide a brief summary of a complex CI/CD pipeline or cloud infrastructure you successfully built and managed. What were the tools used and the scale of the traffic/data?
