At Design and Decor, we specialize in creating exceptional interior spaces. We are currently expanding our team and looking for a talented, hands-on Interior Architect who is just as comfortable on a construction site as they are behind a computer screen.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Interior Architect who can manage projects from concept to completion. In this dual role, you will be responsible for creating detailed architectural and interior designs, and then stepping onto the site to bring those visions to life. You will serve as the bridge between design intent and on-site execution, coordinating with contractors, solving real-time site challenges, and ensuring our high standards of quality are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Planning:
- Develop comprehensive 2D/3D layouts, working drawings, ceiling plans, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) layouts.
- Create detailed material specifications, mood boards, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
- Collaborate with clients and management to understand project requirements and deliver functional, aesthetic solutions.
Site Management & Execution:
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure design accuracy, and maintain quality control.
- Directly manage and coordinate with on-site vendors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and painters.
- Provide immediate, practical solutions to structural or design clashes that arise during execution.
- Track project timelines to ensure smooth handovers without compromising on finishing details.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Interior Architect or Designer, with mandatory experience in site supervision and execution.
- High proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, V-Ray, Enscape, or 3ds Max.
- Deep technical knowledge of interior materials, joinery details, finishes, and custom cabinetry.
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain technical working drawings to site laborers.
- Strong leadership, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
