Job Summary:
The Kitchen Helper supports the kitchen team in daily food preparation, cleaning, stock handling, and maintaining hygiene standards. The role ensures smooth kitchen operations and assists chefs in preparing quality food products in a safe and efficient manner.
Food Preparation Support
- Assist chefs in basic food preparation activities.
- Wash, peel, cut, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
- Prepare ingredients as instructed by the chef.
- Assist in packing and labeling food orders.
Kitchen Cleaning & Hygiene
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Wash dishes, cooking utensils, and food containers.
- Dispose of kitchen waste properly.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Inventory & Stock Handling
- Receive and store raw materials and supplies.
- Arrange ingredients and kitchen items in designated storage areas.
- Assist in stock counting and inventory checks.
- Report shortages, damages, or expired items to the supervisor.
Order Packing & Dispatch Support
- Assist in packing customer orders accurately.
- Ensure proper labeling and packaging of food items.
- Coordinate with delivery personnel for timely dispatch of orders.
Equipment Maintenance
- Clean kitchen equipment after use.
- Report any equipment malfunction or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure safe handling of kitchen tools and machinery.
Qualification:
- Minimum 10th Pass / Higher Secondary preferred.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations is an advantage but not mandatory.
Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in kitchens, restaurants, catering, or cloud kitchens.
- Freshers willing to learn may also apply.
Skills Required:
- Basic food handling knowledge.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical fitness and willingness to perform manual tasks.
- Attention to cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Cleanliness and hygiene standards maintained.
- Accuracy in food preparation support & Timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Proper handling of ingredients and equipment.
- Efficient support during peak operational hours.
Working Conditions:
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Compliance with company hygiene, safety, and grooming standards.
