Job Summary:
We are looking for a Procurement Engineer with hands-on experience in automotive sourcing and vendor development. The ideal candidate should have expertise in procurement of Plastic Components, Metal Castings, and Electrical/Electronic Parts, along with strong negotiation and cost optimization skills. The role will involve end-to-end sourcing, supplier management, cost analysis, and cross-functional coordination to support new product development and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure Plastic, Metal Casting, and Electrical/Electronic components for EV applications
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements before floating RFQs
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers capable of meeting quality, cost, and delivery expectations
- Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and vendor performance reviews
- Manage supplier relationships from development stage through mass production
- Perform cost analysis, should-costing, and negotiate pricing, tooling, and commercial terms
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering and alternate sourcing strategies
- Monitor commodity trends including aluminum, copper, steel, and plastic resin pricing
- Coordinate with R&D, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams during NPD and production phases
- Ensure timely material availability as per production schedules
- Track supplier performance based on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Responsiveness
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Injection Moulding, Plastic Components, and Engineering Plastics
- Knowledge of Metal Castings, Die Cast Components, Machined Parts, and Structural Components
- Experience in sourcing Electrical & Electronic Components such as Wiring Harnesses, Connectors, Switches, Sensors, etc.
- Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings and Technical Specifications
- Knowledge of Cost Breakdown Analysis and Should-Costing Techniques
- Familiarity with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and IATF 16949 standards
- Hands-on experience with ERP/SAP systems
- Basic knowledge of CAD viewers and technical documentation
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Candidates from Automotive, EV, Auto Components, or Tier-1 Supplier industries preferred
- Experience in strategic sourcing, vendor development, and procurement of automotive components
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills
- Exposure to EV components and vehicle manufacturing processes will be an added advantage
- Immediate joiners or candidates serving short notice periods preferred

Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
