1.Implements and maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives,
quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
2. Provide pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care for patients
undergoing cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stenting, and other interventional
procedures.
3. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including cardiac and neurological
evaluations.
4. Administer medications, including sedatives and pain management agents, as per
protocol.
5. Monitor and document patient vital signs, neurological status, and response to treatment
during procedures.
6. Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for procedures.
7. Assist cardiologists and other team members during diagnostic and interventional
procedures, including setting up sterile fields, handling instruments, and operating
specialized equipment.
8. Ensure the availability and proper functioning of all necessary equipment and supplies.
9. Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
10. Prepare and manage medications used during procedures.
11. Assess patient’s vital signs and lab data to determine emergency intervention needs.
12. Collaborate with other health care professional to develop and revise treatment plan
based on identified needs and assessment data.
13. Document patient’s medical history and assessment findings, treatment plans,
intervention, outcome/plan revision
14. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in intravenous access, the management of
central venous catheter, venepuncture.
15. Practice advanced life support in order to facilitate rapid stabilization and the appropriate
ongoing management of patients who develop acute treatment complications.
16. Deliver seamless service through the development of enhanced communication with key
stake holders and patient care contributors.
17. Refer patients who present with most complex needs to the appropriate specialist
including their families who require more in-depth support and counseling.
18. Ensure all patients are fully informed of the risks and benefits of proposed procedures /
treatments contributing to the process securing informed consent.
19. Achieve a range of clinical competencies as required to fulfill the role.
20. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as
required and adjusts nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
21. Provide comfort to the patients and maintain a safe environment and identification of
potential risk for all patients and visitors; take action as and when required.
22. Take over the charge from duty nurse of previous shift regarding patients (bed to bed),
instrument supplies, drugs etc and handed over the same to the next shift.
23. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.
24. Identifies and reports to the Nursing Supervisor, areas of nursing care delivery that
requires in service education and initiates action to correct the problem. Immediately
reports any unusual occurrences and document appropriately in the patient record.
25. Work as a team leader when allocated to do so. Develop the role according to patients
changing needs and research findings, within the resources available..
26. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls in a pleasant professional manner.
27. Observes and utilizes infection control guidelines in patient care. Observe IC standards in
handling of all instruments and specimen.
28. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
29. Attends meetings and participates in committees as required.
