Maintenance Technician – Rubber Machinery
Location: Airapuram, Kochi (must be able to commute daily)
Experience: 20+ years in rubber machinery maintenance
Qualification: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical or related field
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to handle the maintenance and supervision of our maintenance team. The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable working on the floor, and has deep technical knowledge of rubber processing machinery and plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and supervise maintenance of rubber mills, autoclaves, hydraulic presses, rubber crackers, and grinders
- Maintain electrical equipment and boilers
- Lead and coordinate the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and carry out timely repairs
Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment
- Maintain logs and records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and spare parts usage
- Conduct routine inspections and condition monitoring to identify issues before they cause failures
- Ensure timely lubrication, calibration, and replacement of worn components
- Coordinate planned shutdowns and overhauls to minimize production disruption
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements for boilers and pressure equipment
Requirements
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical or a related discipline
- Minimum 20 years of experience in rubber machinery maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of the components and functioning of rubber mills, autoclaves, hydraulic presses, crackers, grinders, boilers, and electrical systems
- Ability to work on the shop floor and lead a team
- Must be able to commute reliably to Airapuram, Kochi
