Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Design Lead – Seating System to support the design and development of automotive seating components, with a focus on head restraints and armrests. The role involves leading component design activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring product quality, performance, cost, and timing targets are achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of seating system components such as head restraints and armrests.

Create and review technical specifications, DFMEA, DVP&R, and related engineering documentation.

Perform CAD modeling, packaging studies, clearance analysis, and design validation activities.

Coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, supplier, and vehicle integration teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance.

Support design releases, engineering change management, and project milestone deliverables.

Drive quality, cost, weight, and performance improvement initiatives.

Conduct manufacturing feasibility, assembly studies, and benchmarking activities.

Provide engineering support for durability, crash, NVH, and regulatory validation requirements.
Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
Essential skills:
- 6–8 years of experience in automotive seating system design and development.

Experience in component and system-level product development.

Proficiency in CATIA/UG NX and PLM tools.

Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, design validation, and product development processes.

Understanding of manufacturing processes related to sheet metal, plastics, foam, trim, and seat assemblies.

Strong project coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers is preferred.
