Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Documentation Executive with hands-on experience in Bill of Lading (B/L) documentation. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of shipping documentation, international trade practices, and logistics operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipping documents.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, review, and issue Bills of Lading (B/L) in accordance with shipping instructions, Letters of Credit (LC), and trade regulations.
* Verify booking details, cargo descriptions, HS Codes, weights, measurements, and shipper/consignee information.
* Coordinate with customers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, and internal teams for accurate documentation.
* Process B/L amendments, corrections, surrender requests, and telex releases as required.
* Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and Incoterms.
* Maintain organized records of Bills of Lading, manifests, and other shipping documents.
* Liaise with carriers, ports, and freight forwarders to resolve documentation discrepancies.
* Support the finance team by ensuring shipping documents align with invoicing and payment requirements.
* Resolve documentation-related queries promptly to prevent shipment delays.
Required Skills
* Strong knowledge of Bill of Lading documentation, including Original, Seaway, Switch, and Surrender B/L.
* Good understanding of international trade documentation, shipping procedures, and Incoterms.
* Excellent attention to detail and document accuracy.
* Proficiency in MS Office and shipping/ERP software.
* Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
