Design Engineer – Gearbox Design (Mechanical)

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer – Gearbox Design to join our Electro Mechanics team. The candidate will work in a global engineering environment on local and international programs, supporting gearbox design and development from concept phase through production. The role involves gearbox modeling, drafting, optimization, testing support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create specifications, drawings, and Bills of Material (BOM) for gearbox components.
- Perform gearbox design modeling and drafting for geared motors and transmission systems.
- Deliver engineering outputs within project timelines and quality standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, sourcing, and quality.
- Design and optimize gearbox housings, castings, and mechanical components.
- Conduct engineering calculations as per ISO/DIN standards.
- Support prototype build and functional testing activities.
- Participate in localization, value analysis (VA), and value engineering (VE) initiatives.
- Review supplier drawings and technical documents and provide feedback or approvals.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, design practices, and company procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
- Strong experience in Industrial Gearbox, Geared Motor, Transmission, or Powertrain Design.
- Expert knowledge of ISO/DIN norms and load capacity calculation methodologies.
- Strong mechanical design fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Romax
- KISSsoft
- Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
- Experience in gearbox modeling, drafting, and design calculations.
- Exposure to PLM/ERP systems such as SAP and Teamcenter.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Industrial Gearbox or Geared Motor Industry.
- Exposure to global engineering teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
