Position Summary
The Kitchen Supervisor oversees daily kitchen operations to ensure food quality, hygiene standards, and efficient workflow. This role supervises kitchen staff, supports food preparation, maintains inventory, and ensures compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
Key Responsibilities Kitchen Operations
- Supervise daily food preparation and cooking activities.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor portion control and minimize food wastage.
- Ensure timely food production during service hours.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise and guide kitchen helpers, cooks, and commis chefs.
- Assign duties and monitor staff performance.
- Train new kitchen employees on procedures and hygiene standards.
- Maintain discipline and teamwork in the kitchen.
Hygiene & Food Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
- Ensure proper food storage (FIFO method).
- Conduct regular temperature and hygiene checks.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Monitor stock levels of food supplies and ingredients.
- Assist in ordering and receiving kitchen supplies.
- Verify quality and quantity of delivered items.
- Maintain proper stock records and reduce wastage.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Ensure proper usage of kitchen equipment.
- Report maintenance issues to management.
- Oversee cleaning and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred.
- 3–5 years of kitchen experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
Required Skills
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP preferred).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
