Job Summary
The Procurement Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and services required for project execution. The role ensures timely procurement, cost optimization, quality compliance, and effective vendor management while adhering to company policies and project timelines.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support construction projects.
- Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor order execution until delivery.
- Ensure timely availability of construction materials, tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Coordinate with project, site, engineering, and inventory teams to understand procurement requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages and excess stock.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure all procured materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare procurement budgets, cost analyses, and periodic purchase reports.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, vendor documentation, and purchase history.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and statutory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delays, quality concerns, and contractual disputes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, vendor management, and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and procurement software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
