Vikram Hospital, Madurai is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursing Incharge to lead the Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OG) nursing team. The successful candidate will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure high standards of patient care, manage nursing staff, and support clinical excellence in labour, delivery, postnatal, gynaecology, and neonatal care. The hospital provides comprehensive obstetrics and gynaecology services through its women's health centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all nursing activities within the OG department.
- Ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care for antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and gynaecology patients.
- Manage labour room, maternity ward, operation theatre coordination, and neonatal care activities.
- Prepare duty rosters and allocate nursing staff efficiently.
- Monitor nursing documentation, medication administration, and patient safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with obstetricians, gynaecologists, paediatricians, anaesthetists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to enhance clinical competency.
- Monitor patient satisfaction and promptly address patient and family concerns.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical equipment, consumables, and emergency supplies.
- Participate in NABH quality initiatives, audits, and continuous quality improvement programmes.
- Handle emergency obstetric situations and ensure timely escalation when required.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification
- B.Sc. Nursing (Mandatory)
- Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
Experience
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OG) department.
- Previous experience as a Nursing Incharge, Senior Staff Nurse, or Team Leader is preferred.
