Job Summary
The Cashier in a jewellery store is responsible for handling billing operations, processing customer payments, maintaining transaction records, and ensuring accurate cash management while delivering excellent customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Payment Handling
Generate accurate invoices and bills for jewellery purchases.
Handle cash, card, UPI, bank transfer, and EMI transactions.
Verify pricing, discounts, making charges, taxes, and exchange values.
Ensure proper billing as per company policies and GST regulations.
Cash Management
Maintain daily cash balance and petty cash records.
Perform opening and closing cash reconciliation.
Deposit cash safely as per store procedures.
Report cash discrepancies immediately.
Customer Service
Assist customers during billing and payment processes.
Explain payment details, schemes, exchange policies, and warranties.
Handle customer queries politely and professionally.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain billing records and transaction reports.
Prepare daily sales and cash reports.
Coordinate with accounts and audit teams during verification.
Security & Compliance
Follow jewellery store security and confidentiality protocols.
Ensure safe handling of high-value transactions.
Maintain accuracy in billing and stock-related entries.
Coordination
Coordinate with sales staff for smooth customer handling.
Support showroom operations during rush hours and festive sales.
Required Skills
Basic accounting and cash handling knowledge
Attention to detail and accuracy
Familiarity with billing software/POS systems
Good communication skills
Honesty and integrity
Basic MS Excel knowledge
Qualification
12th Pass / Graduate in Commerce preferred
Experience
Fresher or 1–4 years in cashiering, billing, or retail operations
Jewellery retail experience preferred
