Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Officer – EHS / Assistant Manager – EHS to lead the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) function at our chemical manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of statutory compliance, safety management systems, and chemical plant safety practices, with the ability to drive a proactive safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS statutory and legal requirements for the chemical manufacturing plant.
✅ Manage and lead the Safety Department, ensuring effective implementation of EHS policies and procedures.
✅ Develop, implement, and strengthen the organization's safety culture through continuous improvement initiatives.
✅ Ensure compliance with company safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
✅ Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, mock drills, audits, inspections, and awareness programs.
✅ Perform risk assessments, HAZOP studies, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazard identification activities.
✅ Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
✅ Monitor and maintain statutory records, licenses, permits, and compliance documentation.
✅ Coordinate with government authorities, regulatory agencies, and external auditors for inspections and compliance matters.
✅ Ensure proper implementation of Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE compliance, and emergency response systems.
✅ Monitor fire protection systems, emergency preparedness, and disaster management plans.
✅ Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste.
✅ Prepare and submit statutory reports related to EHS and maintain all compliance documentation.
✅ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents and improve workplace safety performance.
✅ Support ISO management systems and participate in internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits.
