Job Summary
We are looking for a hardworking and dependable Kitchen Helper to join our busy multicuisine restaurant. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone who wants to start a career in the culinary industry. You will be responsible for maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with basic food prep, and ensuring our chefs have everything they need to deliver high-quality meals to our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Assist chefs with basic tasks such as peeling, washing, and cutting vegetables, or portioning ingredients.
- Dishwashing: Operate the industrial dishwasher and manually wash pots, pans, and delicate glassware as needed.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by sweeping/mopping floors and wiping down workstations.
- Trash Removal: Regularly empty trash bins and ensure the loading dock/waste area is kept tidy.
- Stock Organization: Assist in unloading deliveries and organizing the storeroom or walk-in cooler (following FIFO guidelines).
- Kitchen Support: Clear away used equipment from the line to ensure a smooth workflow for the Commi and CDP chefs.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not required (we are happy to train the right person!).
- Reliability: Punctuality is a must—we need someone who shows up ready to work.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for long shifts, work in a hot environment, and lift up to [e.g., 20kg] safely.
- Teamwork: Ability to follow instructions quickly and work well under pressure during "rush" hours.
- Hygiene: Basic understanding of food safety and personal grooming standards.
