Tarq Foundation is Hiring Field Research & Video Documentation Interns for a citywide Bengaluru Road Safety Survey focused on understanding how residents experience the city’s roads, where they feel unsafe, and what changes they want to see.

Location: Bengaluru – Field-based
Duration: 7–15 working days, with possible extension
Compensation: ₹1,200 per intern per day, inclusive of execution, meals and local travel
Key Responsibilities
- Record short 30–60-second portrait-format video interviews
- Use a smartphone/camera confidently in 9:16 format
- Check framing, audio, lighting and background
- Approach and communicate respectfully with Bengaluru residents
- Speak Kannada and support English translation
- Assist with field coordination and physical survey forms
- Complete video logs and field documentation
- Rename, organise and upload videos to Google Drive
- Attend daily briefings and support end-of-day reconciliation
Mandatory Requirements
- Strong spoken, written and reading skills in Kannada
- Must be a resident of Bengaluru
- Comfortable speaking and translating into English; Hindi is an advantage
- Basic smartphone videography or photography skills
- Comfortable approaching and interacting with people
- Willing to travel and work outdoors across Bengaluru
- Personal laptop and stable internet connection
- Responsible and ethical handling of recording equipment
- Availability for the full assignment period
Students or graduates from journalism, mass communication, film, photography, sociology, social work, design, urban studies, public policy, development studies or Kannada media/literature are encouraged to apply.
