Barista – Job Description (Bisou Bisou Café)
Position: Barista
Location: Café Bisou Bisou, Malad (W)

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee, espresso-based beverages, matcha, teas, smoothies, and other café drinks according to standard recipes.
- Operate and maintain professional coffee equipment, including the La Carimali espresso machine and grinder.
- Ensure consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and customer experience.
- Take customer orders, process payments, and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Assist with basic food plating, dessert presentation, and order dispatch for dine-in and delivery platforms.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate inventory requirements to management.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
Cleaning & Hygiene Requirements (Highest Priority)
Cleanliness is the utmost priority at Bisou Bisou. The ideal candidate must:
- Maintain a spotless coffee bar, counters, equipment, display areas, and customer-facing spaces throughout the shift.
- Clean the La Carimali machine, grinders, milk pitchers, tools, and workstations regularly and correctly.
- Follow opening, mid-shift, and closing cleaning checklists without exception.
- Wash utensils, crockery, equipment, and maintain back-of-house cleanliness.
- Ensure washrooms, seating areas, glass surfaces, and floors are clean and presentable.
- Take ownership of cleanliness standards rather than waiting for instructions.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista in a café or specialty coffee environment preferred.
- Must know how to operate a professional espresso machine (La Carimali experience preferred), including:
- Dialing in espresso
- Milk steaming and basic latte art
- Espresso extraction and calibration
- Daily cleaning and maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and beverage preparation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Punctual, responsible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude and attention to detail.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
