We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to join our finance and accounts team at our Shankar Nagar, Nagpur location.
Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting tax compliance activities, preparing reports, and handling accounting data using Tally and Advanced Excel.
The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of accounting principles, Tally, GST, TDS, income tax basics, reconciliations, and advanced Excel functions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records in Tally
- Record purchase, sales, receipt, payment, and journal entries
- Maintain ledgers and ensure proper accounting classification
- Prepare bank, vendor, customer, and other account reconciliations
- Assist in monthly closing activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of accounting transactions
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
GST & Taxation
- Assist in GST compliance and related accounting activities
- Prepare and reconcile data for GST returns
- Perform GSTR-2B reconciliation
- Assist with input tax credit verification and reconciliation
- Handle basic knowledge of TDS provisions and compliance
- Assist in TDS deduction, reconciliation, and related records
- Support basic income tax-related accounting requirements
- Ensure proper maintenance of tax-related documents and records
Advanced Excel & MIS Reporting
- Prepare regular MIS reports and management reports
- Use advanced Excel functions such as:
- VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
- INDEX-MATCH
- SUMIFS / COUNTIFS
- IF and nested IF formulas
- Pivot Tables
- Conditional Formatting
- Data Validation
- Text and Date Functions
- Filters and Advanced Sorting
- Analyze accounting data and identify discrepancies
- Prepare reconciliation and comparison reports
- Maintain and update financial trackers
Tally & Financial Data Management
- Maintain accounting data in Tally ERP / Tally Prime
- Perform ledger scrutiny
- Check outstanding receivables and payables
- Assist in maintaining proper accounting records
- Ensure accuracy of vouchers and supporting documents
- Coordinate with internal teams for accounting-related information
Required Skills
Mandatory Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting
- Strong knowledge of Tally / Tally Prime
- Good knowledge of Advanced Excel
- Practical understanding of GST and TDS
- Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Experience in bank and ledger reconciliation
- Good analytical and numerical skills
- Strong attention to detail
Educational Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com / BBA in Finance or equivalent qualification
- Candidates with relevant practical experience in accounting will also be considered
