The Production Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, and optimizing the manufacturing of aluminium/stainless steel doors and windows for railway coaches. The role involves ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, cost control, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution
- Execute daily production plans as per dispatch schedule.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Monitor production output and achieve daily/monthly targets.
- Minimize downtime and production delays.
2. Shop Floor Management
- Supervise fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, glazing, hardware fitting, powder coating/anodizing (if applicable), and final inspection.
- Allocate work to operators and technicians.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and work instructions.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure products comply with customer drawings, specifications, and railway standards.
- Monitor dimensional accuracy and finish quality.
- Coordinate with the Quality department for inspections and NCR closure.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
4. Process Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Improve productivity and reduce cycle time.
- Analyze bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
5. Material & Inventory Control
- Monitor raw material consumption.
- Minimize wastage and scrap.
- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for uninterrupted material availability.
6. Machine & Equipment Management
- Ensure preventive maintenance of machines.
- Report machine breakdowns promptly.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance department to maximize equipment uptime.
7. Documentation
- Maintain daily production reports.
- Record production, rejection, downtime, and efficiency.
- Maintain traceability records and production documentation.
- Update MIS reports for management.
8. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with factory safety procedures.
- Promote PPE usage and safe working practices.
- Participate in safety audits and corrective actions.
9. Team Management
- Supervise production operators and supervisors.
- Train new employees on manufacturing processes.
- Monitor discipline, attendance, and performance.
10. Cross-functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Design, Planning, Purchase, Quality, Stores, and Dispatch departments.
- Support new product development and prototype manufacturing.
- Ensure on-time execution of customer orders.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
