Job Description: Production Engineer – Lithium-ion Battery

Position Summary
A Production Engineer for Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery packs oversees the assembly, testing, and optimization of battery production lines to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. They define Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reduce cycle times, manage technicians, and implement Lean/5S practices for EV/ESS battery modules.
Key Responsibilities
· Production Operations: Manage end-to-end battery pack assembly (cell insertion, welding, BMS integration, testing).
· Process Optimization: Implement Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma to improve yield, reduce defects, and optimize cycle times.
· SOP Development: Create and update SOPs, work instructions, and documentation for assembly processes.
· Quality Control: Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards, collaborating with QC for defect root cause analysis (CAPA/8D).
· Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols for handling cells, PPE usage, and ESD controls.
· Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis on production line breakdowns, battery failures, and field returns.
· Team Leadership: Train and supervise operators to maintain a disciplined work culture.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
· Industry Experience:3-4 years Experience in Li-ion battery pack manufacturing, ideally for Electric Vehicles (EV) or Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
· Technical Expertise: Knowledge of laser/ultrasonic welding, BMS (Battery Management System) testing, and thermal management systems.
· Tools/Methods: Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and 5S.
· Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills

Pay: ₹11,718.67 - ₹51,920.29 per month
