Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Legal Manager to oversee all legal, regulatory, compliance, and industry-specific audit matters for our Lab-Grown Diamond & Jewellery business. The candidate will be responsible for handling registrations, licenses, NOCs, liaisoning, PR coordination, contract management, risk mitigation, and compliance audits and other diamond industry certifications.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of corporate laws, export-import regulations, jewellery industry compliance, and ethical sourcing standards applicable to the diamond trade.
Key Responsibilities
1. Licenses, NOCs & Approvals
Obtain and renew all necessary licenses, NOCs, and approvals from relevant authorities.
Coordinate with Pollution Control Board, Municipal Authorities, SEZ authorities (if applicable), Customs, DGFT, and other regulatory bodies.
Monitor validity and renewal timelines of all approvals.
2. Liaisoning & Government Coordination
Act as primary liaison between the company and government departments.
Follow up with authorities for approvals, registrations, and compliance matters.
Handle official correspondence and represent the company in regulatory discussions.
Manage PR coordination related to legal and compliance matters.
3. Contract Management
Draft, review, and vet commercial agreements including:
Vendor & supplier agreements
Distributor & export agreements
NDAs
Employment contracts
Lease agreements
Partnership/JV agreements
Ensure legal safeguards in all business transactions.
4. Corporate Legal Advisory
Provide strategic legal advice to management.
Support business expansion, international trade compliance, and due diligence processes.
Assist in structuring commercial arrangements and risk assessment.
5. Litigation & Risk Management
Coordinate with external legal counsel for litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
Draft and respond to legal notices.
Identify legal risks and implement preventive compliance measures.
6. Documentation & Compliance Systems
Maintain centralized legal and compliance documentation system.
Develop and implement internal compliance policies and SOPs.
Conduct periodic internal compliance reviews.
Required Qualifications
LLM/LLB
Experience
4–8 years of experience in corporate legal/compliance roles.
Prior experience in diamond, jewellery, manufacturing, or export-import industry preferred.
Experience handling RJC audits or similar industry audits is highly desirable.
