Role Overview
We are looking for a full-funnel growth marketer who can build brand, create demand and generate qualified pipeline — not just run SEO or paid campaigns.
This is not an SEO specialist role. SEO and AI search matter, but they are only one part of the job. We need someone who understands buyers, positioning, content, campaigns, experiments, conversion, sales alignment and pipeline.
You will be responsible for how Merchmix shows up in the market, the story we tell, the demand we create and the qualified demo enquiries we generate.
Most of our future buyers are not actively searching for an “inventory operating system” yet. Many assume their ERP, spreadsheets or existing tools already solve the problem. Your job is to help the market understand the problem, trust Merchmix as the answer, and convert that trust into sales conversations.
The right person thinks in terms of buyers, pain points, funnels, growth loops, experiments and revenue impact. You can shape a point of view, turn complex product capability into clear messaging, launch campaigns quickly, measure honestly, kill what does not work and double down on what does.
This is a growth role for someone who wants to build the engine, not inherit one.
What This Role Is
This role is for someone who can:
- Build awareness and trust with senior retail and inventory-led business buyers.
- Turn complex SaaS functionality into simple, commercial messaging.
- Create demand in a category buyers may not know they need yet.
- Build campaigns across LinkedIn, content, founder-led thought leadership, events, partnerships, landing pages, email, paid and search.
- Work with sales and leadership to improve lead quality, not just lead volume.
- Own growth experiments from idea to execution to measurement.
- Connect marketing activity to qualified demos, pipeline and commercial outcomes.
What This Role Is Not
This is not the right role if you mainly want to:
- Only write SEO blogs.
- Only optimise keywords and backlinks.
- Only run Google Ads or LinkedIn Ads.
- Only report traffic, impressions, clicks or rankings.
- Wait for a large team, big budget or perfect brief before acting.
- Focus on channel execution without understanding the buyer, message and pipeline impact.
Key ResponsibilitiesBrand, Positioning & Market Narrative
- Own how Merchmix shows up in the market across messaging, voice, narrative and category story.
- Sharpen positioning for an “inventory operating system” in a crowded, jargon-heavy retail technology space.
- Build Merchmix’s authority through founder-led content, thought leadership, social presence, campaign ideas, event narratives and educational content.
- Develop a brand engine that makes Merchmix a name buyers trust before they ever take a demo.
- Translate complex product capabilities into commercial stories for CEOs, CFOs, Heads of Merchandising, Heads of Planning, Operations leaders and Technology leaders.
Demand Creation
- Build awareness among buyers who may not yet be actively searching for a solution.
- Develop point-of-view content around inventory distortion, planning and execution disconnects, stockouts, overstock, margin leakage and reactive retail decision-making.
- Create founder and executive LinkedIn content, campaign concepts, thought-leadership pieces, event-led content, webinars, community plays and partner-led campaigns.
- Identify the channels most likely to build trust with our target buyers and test them quickly.
- Build repeatable growth loops rather than one-off campaigns.
Demand Capture
- Capture existing intent through high-intent landing pages, SEO, AI search visibility, paid search, LinkedIn Ads, retargeting and conversion-focused content.
- Improve Merchmix’s visibility for relevant retail, planning, inventory, allocation, replenishment and merchandising topics.
- Build question-led content, comparison pages, use-case pages, industry pages and FAQ structures that can perform in both search and AI-generated answers.
- Manage paid campaigns where useful, but with a focus on qualified pipeline, not cheap leads.
Campaigns, Experiments & Growth Plays
- Design and run growth experiments with a clear hypothesis, audience, channel, message, metric and decision rule.
- Launch small tests quickly, read the results honestly and make clear recommendations on whether to scale, adjust or kill.
- Build campaign plays for priority markets such as the US, UK, Australia and Europe.
- Support event-led and account-based growth plays around target retailers, industry events and strategic accounts.
- Create campaigns that combine brand, content, outbound, landing pages, social, founder activity and sales follow-up.
Website, Content & Conversion
- Own website messaging, module pages, industry pages, landing pages, CTAs and demo-conversion journeys.
- Write or direct high-quality landing pages, blogs, product explainers, sales enablement, email nurture, LinkedIn content and campaign assets.
- Improve conversion from website visitor to qualified demo enquiry.
- Build content that is useful for buyers, credible for sales and structured enough for search and AI discovery.
- Make Merchmix easier to understand for buyers who do not yet know the category.
Sales Alignment & Pipeline
- Work closely with sales and leadership to understand lead quality, buyer objections, deal movement and what converts.
- Build a feedback loop between campaigns, sales conversations, CRM data and messaging.
- Track performance across the full funnel, from brand signals to qualified demos and pipeline contribution.
- Improve MQL-to-opportunity conversion, not just top-of-funnel volume.
- Help create sales assets that make follow-up stronger and more relevant.
Analytics & Reporting
- Own weekly and monthly growth reporting across brand, demand creation, demand capture, conversion and pipeline.
- Track brand signals such as branded search, share of voice, founder/social engagement, direct traffic and audience growth.
- Track performance signals such as demo enquiries, qualified leads, MQL-to-opportunity conversion, pipeline contribution, CAC, CPL and landing page conversion.
- Report clearly on what is working, what is not working and what should change next.
- Avoid vanity metrics unless they connect to a clear learning or pipeline outcome.

- ABM experience for mid-market or enterprise accounts.
- Lifecycle/email, partnerships, community or event-led growth experience.
- Familiarity with HubSpot or Salesforce, GA4, Search Console, SEMrush/Ahrefs and Looker Studio.

You have formed a clear growth thesis, identified priority buyer personas, reviewed existing channels, sharpened messaging gaps and proposed the first set of growth experiments.
First 60 Days
You have launched your first demand-creation and demand-capture plays, improved core messaging or landing pages, started founder/social or campaign activity, and created honest full-funnel reporting.
First 90 Days
You are driving measurable improvement in qualified demo enquiries, lead quality, brand signals, sales feedback and pipeline contribution. You can explain which plays are working, which are not and what should happen next.
