Job Description – GeM Executive (Government e-Marketplace) – FMCG Food Company
Position: GeM Executive / GeM Sales Executive

Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete operations of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal.
- Upload and maintain product catalogues, specifications, pricing, and product images on GeM.
- Monitor GeM portal regularly for new bids, tenders, reverse auctions, and business opportunities.
- Participate in bids, prepare quotations, and submit tender documents within deadlines.
- Coordinate with internal departments for product availability, pricing approvals, and documentation.
- Process government purchase orders received through GeM and ensure timely execution.
- Track order status, dispatches, deliveries, invoices, and payment follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance with GeM policies, tender requirements, and government procurement guidelines.
- Handle vendor assessment, product approvals, and catalog updates.
- Resolve customer queries, complaints, returns, and order-related issues.
- Maintain records of bids, orders, sales, payments, and contracts.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports related to GeM business.
- Develop relationships with government departments, PSUs, educational institutions, railways, defense units, and other government buyers.
- Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of food products.
- Monitor competitor activities and pricing on the GeM platform.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets through GeM business.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of GeM Portal operations and government procurement processes.
- Experience in bid management, tender participation, and reverse auctions.
- Good understanding of FMCG/Food product specifications and documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and MIS reporting.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in GeM Portal handling, tender management, or government sales.
- Experience in FMCG/Food industry will be preferred.

- Number of bids submitted.
- Bid-to-order conversion ratio.
- Monthly sales generated through GeM.
- Order execution and delivery timelines.
- Collection and payment realization.
- Government customer acquisition and retention.
