Job Summary
UNILIFT Cargo Systems Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer (EHS) to oversee Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) functions at our Dross Processing Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, implementing HSE management systems, promoting a strong safety culture, and maintaining environmental standards across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Factory Act, environmental regulations, hazardous waste management rules, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate and maintain compliance related to CTO, CTE, Factory License, Fire License, SPCB requirements, and other regulatory approvals.
- Monitor hazardous waste handling, storage, transportation, and documentation as per Hazardous & Other Wastes Management Rules, 2016.
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, HIRA, risk assessments, and ensure timely CAPA closure.
- Ensure 100% compliance with PPE usage, SOPs, SMPs, and safe work practices.
- Conduct HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety awareness sessions, and periodic training for employees and contractors.
- Perform regular environmental monitoring, including air, water, noise, stack emissions, and waste management documentation.
- Implement and monitor 5S, housekeeping standards, firefighting systems, and first-aid compliance.
- Maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 documentation and support internal/external audits.
- Prepare HSE reports, statutory records, environmental documentation, KPI reports, and compliance trackers.
- Conduct monthly HSE meetings, safety audits, hazard reviews, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Support initiatives to improve workplace safety, environmental performance, and employee awareness.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Engineering or Industrial Safety.
- ADIS / PDIS or an equivalent safety qualification will be preferred.
- 3–6 years of experience in EHS within manufacturing, metal processing, aluminium, steel, or heavy industrial operations.
- Good knowledge of statutory compliance, ISO management systems, environmental regulations, and occupational health & safety practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HSE documentation.
Preferred Candidate
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial plant operations.
- Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Immediate joiners will be preferred.
- Candidates willing to relocate to Jharsuguda, Odisha are encouraged to apply.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
