QA/QC Implementation: Establish and enforce the project-specific Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and Field Quality Plan (FQP).
Material Testing: Oversee rigorous testing of raw materials (like concrete cube tests, soil compaction, and steel tensile strength) at on-site or third-party labs.
Audit Management: Conduct routine site inspections and quality audits to catch workmanship defects before concrete pours or finishing stages.
Non-Conformance (NCR): Issue NCR reports for substandard work, track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and halt construction if critical quality thresholds fail.
Vendor Qualification: Inspect vendor manufacturing plants and certify that external suppliers meet project quality benchmarks.
Handover Documentation: Compile all material test certificates, inspection reports, and quality logs for the final client handover file.
Key Skills Required
Standards Expertise: Deep, functional knowledge of global and regional codes like ISO 9001, IS Codes (Indian Standards), ASTM, or British Standards.
Defect Diagnostics: Sharp analytical skills to identify root causes of structural issues like concrete honeycombing, cracking, or water seepage.
Testing Tool Mastery: Hands-on familiarity with equipment like rebound hammers, ultrasonic pulse velocity testers, and core drilling rigs.
Commanding Leadership: Strong communication skills to enforce strict quality rules with stubborn site teams and contractors.
