Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Kitchen Captain to lead and manage daily kitchen operations at Chai Govindam. The candidate will be responsible for supervising the kitchen team, maintaining food quality and hygiene standards, managing inventory, and ensuring the timely preparation and delivery of food orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage daily kitchen operations and kitchen staff.
- Ensure food is prepared according to standard recipes and quality guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Monitor kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
- Allocate duties and manage the work schedule of kitchen team members.
- Ensure timely preparation and dispatch of customer orders.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Store/Management team for required materials.
- Reduce food wastage and maintain proper utilization of ingredients.
- Train and guide Commis, Kitchen Helpers, and other kitchen staff.
- Handle customer feedback related to food quality and take corrective action.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly used and maintained.
- Coordinate with the Outlet Manager and other departments for smooth operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in kitchen operations or a similar supervisory role.
- Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen management, hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage food costs, inventory, and kitchen wastage.
- Diploma or certification in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field will be preferred.
