Job Description – Senior Engineer / Senior Executive – Hot Zone Operations
Position Summary
The Senior Engineer – Hot Zone Operations is responsible for managing high-temperature process operations, ensuring product quality, process stability, equipment reliability, safety compliance, and achievement of production targets. The role focuses on optimizing thermal processes, monitoring critical operating parameters, coordinating maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Process Management
- Monitor and control process parameters to ensure consistent product quality.
- Achieve daily, monthly, and annual production targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and process performance.
- Analyze operational data and implement corrective actions when required.
- Ensure smooth coordination with production, maintenance, quality, and utility teams.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain stable process conditions and minimize operational disruptions.
- Monitor critical process indicators and recommend improvements.
- Support implementation of process optimization and cost-reduction projects.
- Investigate process deviations and perform root-cause analysis.
Equipment Reliability
- Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements.
- Participate in shutdown planning and maintenance execution.
- Ensure timely resolution of operational and equipment-related issues.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with laboratory and quality teams for process adjustments.
- Monitor process consistency and product performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and operational standards.
- Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments.
- Support environmental compliance initiatives.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the operations team.
Team Leadership
- Supervise operators and shift personnel.
- Provide technical guidance and training.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support manpower planning and performance management activities.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Mineral, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in manufacturing, mineral processing, refractories, ceramics, metals, cement, or other process industries.
- Experience in thermal process operations and production management preferred.
