Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary: We are seeking a Product Costing Engineer with expertise in Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Machined Parts, Jig & MIG Welding, CNC, and VMC processes. The candidate will be responsible for estimating product costs, optimizing manufacturing expenses, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to achieve cost-eAective production.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation & Analysis: New part development, cost estimates on material, labour, overhead, process, and tooling costs.
Evaluate vendor quotations and assess cost feasibility for sheet metal, fabrication, machining, and welding.
Identify cost reduction opportunities through alternative materials, process optimization, and value engineering. Product Costing & Budgeting: Prepare detailed product cost sheets and maintain cost databases.
Analyze and compare actual vs. estimated costs, identifying key cost drivers.
Monitor raw material price fluctuations and their impact on product costing.
Support RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes by gathering and analyzing supplier cost data. Manufacturing Process & Optimization:
Collaborate with production, design, and procurement teams to optimize cost eAective manufacturing processes.
Recommend process improvements to reduce costs without compromising quality and eAiciency. Work with vendors to improve cost efficiency in CNC, VMC, Wire cutting, sheet metal fabrication, and welding operations. Supplier & Vendor Coordination:
Work closely with suppliers to understand their costing structure and negotiate better pricing.
Conduct supplier cost audits to validate price breakdowns and cost elements.
Develop alternate sourcing strategies to ensure cost competitiveness.
Key Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in DME, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in product costing, cost estimation, and vendor cost analysis in the manufacturing or automotive industry. Familiarity with MS Excel, ERP systems, cost estimation tools.
