The Manager – Strategic Livelihoods will lead the development and execution of innovative livelihood strategies that enhances income security for marginalized communities. This role involves identifying a wide range of scalable livelihood models with a deep understanding of market-driven approaches and partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Identify emerging trends and best practices in sustainable livelihoods focusing on income diversification and income enhancement of marginalized communities
- Develop new business models and large scale supply chains working with large number of rural producers
- Collaborate with local community, government, non-governmental agencies, multilateral organizations and civil society organizations to strengthen the value chain
- Gather and analyze data to guide program decisions, providing actionable insights to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Rural Development, Economics, Business Administration, Social Policy or related fields
- 15 - 25 years of experience in livelihood strategy development, value chain development, economic inclusion or sales and marketing preferably in the food industry
- Experience in building and nurturing relationships with policymakers and corporate partners to advance livelihood initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of initiative, self-direction, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work across diverse geographies and cultural contexts
- Willingness to travel extensively across rural geographies
