Job Summary
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, processing transactions, assisting with statutory compliance, and supporting project accounting activities for infrastructure projects. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and coordination with project teams, vendors, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Record and maintain day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare journal entries, payment vouchers, receipt vouchers, and contra entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and customer ledgers.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Verify bills, purchase orders, work orders, and supporting documents.
- Track customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Reconcile supplier and customer statements.
Project Accounting Support
- Assist in tracking project-related expenses and cost allocations.
- Support preparation of project-wise cost reports and expenditure statements.
- Maintain records of subcontractor payments and project billing.
- Coordinate with site teams for expense documentation and approvals.
Taxation & Compliance
- Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns and related documentation.
- Support TDS calculations, deductions, and statutory filings.
- Maintain tax records and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors and consultants during audits.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare MIS reports and account reconciliations.
- Maintain schedules for fixed assets, advances, and accruals.
Documentation & Audit Support
- Organize and maintain accounting files and records.
- Assist in internal and external audits.
- Ensure proper filing of contracts, invoices, and statutory documents.
- Support compliance with company policies and financial controls.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent qualifications are an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, EPC, engineering, or project-based industries preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
