Qualification Required: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Community Development, or related fields preferred.
Experience Required:
- 1–3 years of experience in community mobilization, field outreach, skilling programs, livelihood initiatives, or social sector projects.
Skills and Attributes:
- Familiarity with local communities, institutions, and field realities within the project geography.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and counselling skills.
- Ability to conduct field visits and community engagement activities regularly.
- Basic proficiency in smartphone-based applications, data collection tools, and reporting formats
- Basic proficiency in Marathi is preferred
The Role
PCI India is seeking energetic and community-oriented Mobilizers to support outreach, awareness generation, learner identification, and onboarding activities under Project ASCEND. The Mobilizer will play a critical role in connecting eligible youth, especially women and underserved communities, to skill training and livelihood opportunities in the renewable energy sector. The role requires extensive field engagement with local communities, SHGs, educational institutions, community leaders, and families to mobilize and support youth through the enrolment process.
The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, familiarity with the local geography and language, and experience working with communities, youth, or skilling initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Outreach & Awareness: Conduct district/village-level and community-based awareness campaigns, orientation sessions, and outreach activities to create awareness about Project ASCEND and its training opportunities.
- Learner Mobilization: Identify and mobilize eligible youth, especially women and underserved groups, for enrollment into the project across target geographies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with SHGs, Gram Panchayats, local institutions, ITIs, colleges, community leaders, and other local stakeholders to support mobilization efforts and strengthen community participation.
- Candidate Counseling & Support: Counsel prospective learners and their families regarding training opportunities, job roles, placement pathways, salary expectations, and career opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
- Screening & Enrollment Support: Support learner registration, document collection, eligibility verification, onboarding processes, and coordination with project teams during batch formation.
- Field Data Collection & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, learner interactions, registrations, and mobilization progress through prescribed formats and MIS systems.
- Training Participation Follow-up: Conduct regular follow-ups with enrolled learners to support attendance, reduce dropouts, and address participation-related concerns during the training period.
- Community Feedback & Coordination: Gather feedback from learners and communities regarding training needs, barriers, and challenges, and share insights with the project team for program improvement.
- Placement Coordination: Assist the placement manager with conducting regular follow-ups with candidates who have been placed, to ensure retention in their employment for at least 6 months.
- Assist and support the reporting manager in any other tasks assigned

Recruitment Process
- Applications will be shortlisted based on the criteria mentioned in the job description.
- The process may include a presentation of the assignment.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for one or more rounds of panel interviews.
The complete process usually takes 2–3 weeks. Candidates moving to the final round will hear from the People & Culture team. In‑person meetings are preferred, but virtual meetings are conducted where distance is a constraint.
