Position description: The role involves overseeing and managing the operations of the Carpentry Shop and Lashing Choking activities within the SPD department at Jindal Stainless Limited. This position requires ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing resource utilization in alignment with the company's objectives in the mining and metals industry. The incumbent will lead a team, coordinate with cross-functional departments, and implement best practices to enhance productivity and quality while adhering to regulatory compliance and company policies.
Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise daily operations of the Carpentry Shop and Lashing Choking units to ensure timely and quality output.

Develop and implement operational plans to optimize resource allocation, reduce downtime, and improve productivity.

Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance within all shop activities.

Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain adequate stock levels of materials and tools required for carpentry and lashing operations.

Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and efficiency.

Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Prepare and submit regular reports on operational metrics, safety incidents, and project progress to senior management.
