Overview: The Assistant Operations Manager will assist the Operations Manager in overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of four star resorts operated by Spice Country Group at Munnar and Vattavada as applicable, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, seamless operations, and adherence to quality standards. This role demands a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage staff effectively while maintaining the resort's unique charm and high standards.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance departments. Ensure smooth check-ins and check-outs while maintaining high guest satisfaction. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistent service quality.
Guest Experience: Monitor guest feedback and ensure prompt resolution of complaints and concerns. Enhance the guest experience by offering personalized services and attention to detail.
Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of hospitality professionals. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. Foster a positive work environment to encourage teamwork and motivation.
Financial Management: Monitor budgets, control operational costs, and ensure profitability. Oversee inventory and procurement of supplies and amenities. Prepare and analyze financial reports to assess operational efficiency.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards. Comply with local regulations and licensing requirements.
Marketing and Sales: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the resort and increase bookings. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.
Property Management: Ensure that the property is well-maintained and address any repair or maintenance issues promptly. Conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics.
Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred. 8+ years of experience in hotel or resort management, with at least 4 years in a similar role. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control. Proficiency in hotel management software and tools. Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly.
Preferred: Prior experience in management in resorts in hill stations in Kerala. Knowledge of local culture and tourism trends in Kerala.
