The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, and team performance. This role is responsible for maintaining Burma Burma’s service standards, supervising staff, driving sales, controlling costs, and ensuring smooth restaurant operations in the Restaurant Manager’s absence.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure smooth service.
* Supervise front-of-house operations and support back-of-house coordination.
* Deliver exceptional guest service and resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.
* Lead, coach, and motivate team members to maintain high service standards.
* Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
* Prepare staff duty rosters and monitor attendance and productivity.
* Ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
* Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food preparation and service.
* Monitor reservations, table allocations, and guest flow during peak hours.
* Assist in controlling food cost, beverage cost, labor cost, and operational expenses.
* Support inventory management, stock control, and wastage reduction initiatives.
* Prepare daily operational reports, sales reports, and shift handover reports.
* Support promotional activities, special events, and revenue-generating initiatives.
* Act as the Manager on Duty (MOD) whenever assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
* 3–5 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
* Experience in premium casual dining or fine dining restaurants is preferred.
