We are seeking a highly experienced and execution-driven professional for the role of Head – Manufacturing to lead and scale end-to-end manufacturing operations for laser systems and special purpose machines (SPM).
This role carries complete ownership of the manufacturing value chain, including production planning, assembly, integration, testing, quality assurance, and dispatch. The primary objective is to ensure consistent delivery of high-precision systems within defined timelines, cost targets, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in precision fabrication, laser system integration, motion control assemblies, and industrial automation. A key expectation is the ability to translate engineering designs into robust, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing processes.
You will be responsible for driving operational excellence through implementation of lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies, while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing rework and inefficiencies.
This position requires strong leadership capabilities to build, mentor, and manage a high-performance manufacturing team. You will work closely with design, R&D, supply chain, and service teams to ensure seamless production flow, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement across all product lines.
A critical success factor in this role is the ability to reduce dependency on individuals by establishing structured processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system-driven manufacturing practices, enabling predictable and scalable production output.
The role is integral to the company’s growth and requires a hands-on leader who can build a disciplined, efficient, and future-ready manufacturing ecosystem.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing of SPM, automation systems, or capital equipment
- Strong exposure to assembly, testing, and system integration environments
- Experience with laser systems, motion control, or precision engineering preferred
- Proven experience in implementing lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, TPM, RCA)
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Ability to handle cross-functional coordination (Design, R&D, Procurement, Service)
- Experience in production planning, scheduling, and shop floor control
- Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably ERPNext or similar)
Success Indicators
Performance in this role will be evaluated based on the following outcomes:
- Consistent on-time delivery (OTD) of machines and systems
- Reduction in rework, rejection rates, and production inefficiencies
- Ability to scale production capacity without compromising quality
- Implementation of process-driven manufacturing (reduced dependency on individuals)
- Effective control over manufacturing costs and resource utilization
- Strong team productivity, stability, and capability development
- Successful integration of ERP-driven production tracking and traceability
- Continuous improvement through standardization and lean practices
